Safety

The mountains are amazing, but they deserve respect. This is how we think about it.

Insurance and your own responsibility

We do everything we can to keep everyone safe during the trip, but you travel and run at your own risk. Make sure you have insurance that covers travelling and running in the mountains.

We run in groups

We form groups based on participants' level and expectations, so nobody is left behind. There are usually two groups: the fika-group (10–20 km a day) and the Lost Goats group (20–40 km a day). You can change groups during the trip. Read more about the groups.

Weather and routes

Routes are prepared but adapted to the weather, snow conditions and the group. If we judge that something can't be done safely, we change the plan. Mountain weather can change quickly and it can get very cold, even in summer.

What you always carry

  • Waterproof running jacket and wind jacket
  • Extra warm long-sleeve (wool) in a dry bag
  • Your own energy for the day, plus an emergency reserve
  • Rescue blanket
  • Headlamp
  • Power bank

The full list is in the packing list.

Tell us about your health

Do you have allergies, medical conditions or anything else we should know for your safety? Write it in the sign-up form. The information is only used for the trip and deleted afterwards (see our privacy policy).

The crew

Our trip leaders are experienced mountain and ultra runners, and several of the crew are trained in first aid. Meet the crew.
